Polshek & Partners, Architects, LLP: The U-M Medical School's Biomedical Science Research Building, providing a new home for more than 100 faculty and scientist. The approximately $200 million, 470,000 gross-square-foot building's architectural style of openness and flexibility fosters project collaboration and inspires intellectual innovation. Space was planned around scientific themes rather than departments so faculty working on similar projects are encouraged by proximity to collaborate and innovate.

Competitive Bid: Detailed Cost Analysis and Value Engineering as outside consultant to Specialty Contractor in the preparation of quantified work for Labor, Material, Tools and Equipment addressing a pre-specified Bid Pack and other related tasking including General and Supplementary Conditions.

Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital – Obstetrics Wing Addition

Hospital: Construction Manager, competitive bid, providing all related work and tasking required for the successful delivery of a multi-level Obstetrics Wing Addition.  Project Wide Responsibilites: Scope includes but not limited to all Labor, Material, Tools and Equipment, General and Supplementary Conditions and the shared coordination and interface of Owner provided Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection.

Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital, Overnight Stay Facility Prime Contractor:  Competitive Bid, providing all related work and tasking required for the successful delivery of a unique 3rd Level-Over Night Stay Facility.

Laboratory & Office: Pfizer is the world's largest research-based pharmaceutical company. Pfizer's former Ann Arbor campus (now University of Michigan) is comprised of 173.5 acres, 1.97 million square feet and 30 buildings; space allocation (33% Laboratory, 28% Office, 17% Laboratory Support, 14% Production, 8% Amenities) Appraised Value: $477 MM

General, Prime and Specialty Contractor: Competitive Bid, Negotiated and Cost Plus; providing all related work and tasking required for the successful delivery of various New, Renovation and Adaptive Reuse Construction.  Multi-Millions completed work (too extensive to enumerate).


 

 
University of Michigan – Undergraduate Science Building

Venturi, Scott Brown & Associates, Architects/Planners (VSBA): This 141,517 sf, $61 million facility will accommodate teaching laboratories for the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology and interdisciplinary science instructional space and support. The remainder will house the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP), Women in Science and Engineering (WISE), the Life Sciences, Values and Society Program. and undergraduate and graduate Neuroscience programs, as well as support space. In addition there will be public spaces to create a welcoming environment for student and faculty interaction.

Competitive Bid-Build: Work secured/performed under a competitive bid of detailed cost analysis, equipment, labor & material estimation, value engineering; as outside Consultant to Specialty Contractor in the preparation of quantified scope addressing a pre-specified Bid Pack and other related tasking.



 


Toyota – North American Headquarters/Research and Development

Technical: Prime Contractor, competitive bid, providing all related work and tasking required for the successful delivery of a multi-level Administrative, Research and Development facility.  Scope includes but not limited to: All Labor, Material, Tools and Equipment, General and Supplementary Conditions, and related specialized services for Sound Testing Facilities, Labs and other Research and Development programming.

As a Bid-Build Contractor contributing experience, professionalism, and the resilience of performing tasks at or above a strict set of criteria and standards, accommodating all requirements at a competitive price, within the time constraints mandated.

Final scope of work was large and all inclusive of multiple trades including coordination necessary to work double shifts, weekends and to accommodate the specific requirements of the job, sporadic field requests and numerous change orders.



 


Wayne State University – Administration Facility

University: In order for WSU to fulfill its mission of excellence, required careful consideration and planning in its growth.  As a Specialty Bid-Build Contractor providing the largest number of skilled tradesmen, materials, and equipment required to complete the new Administrative Building, commonly known as the AAB and it’s multi-storied Atrium enclosure.

At approximately $23.7 Million the AAB program consists of 4 stories, encompassing more than 132,000 square feet.  This hansom design occupies a picturesque campus location and boasts of a four story, naturally day lighted atrium.



 


General Motors -Tech Center

Oak Valley Mall & Village Centre – Retail

Retail: Major brand and national outlet stores.  At the time of construction this $56.3 Million (approx.), Ann Arbor retail center with nearly one-half mile of store front and 373,361 sf gross leaseable area, enclosed more retail space than any other new project of its kind in the region.  Work performed as a specialty contractor, contributing the largest work force, to the most comprehensive scope of tasks to be awarded under a competitive bid-build contract.
